Welcome to the website of the Walter Stewart Clan. Here you will find information on the descendants of Walter Stewart, Sr. who settled in Laurens County, South Carolina in 1788. Over the course of his life, he had seven sons--five with his first wife Mary Ross, who passed away, and two with his second wife, Isabella Bobo. In 1982, there were 6,280 known descendants and spouses in the family. The first Walter Stewart Family Reunion was held at New Harmony Presbyterian Church in Fountain Inn, South Carolina on October 17, 1907. We celebrated the 100th annual anniversary reunion in 2007 and every year the tradition continues. We meet on the 2nd weekend in August. Explore the website to find historic records, past and current newsletters, family photos, as well as information on the upcoming reunion.
