2010 Reunion Minutes
The 103rd annual Reunion of the Walter Stewart Clan was held the weekend of August 8 & 9, at the Fairview Presbyterian Church in Fountain Inn, SC.
Mary Kramer #38213 began the Sunday meeting with the song “Amazing Grace” which played on the bagpipes. Chief Charles B. Stewart #31712 opened the Sunday business meeting with the Call to Order and an invitation to join in singing the Hymn #117, “Blest Be the Tie that Binds”, accompanied by #31761 Martha Henderson, followed by an opening prayer and greetings.
Chief Charles Stewart began the business routine by requesting members from each house stand for count. The report taken by Registrar & Parliamentarian, #317141 Allan S. Fields:

Minutes from the 2009 reunion were read by Secretary #351231 LaMarr Brooks and accepted.
Treasurer #31235 Doug Stewart gave the treasurer’s report.
Previous balance: $2,537.57, expenses $196.00 ($100.00 to New Harmony Presbyterian Church, $96.00 Supplies), collection taken by Robert & Harriett Hall for 2010=$337. Balance to date:
$2,678.59.

Chief Charles gave thanks to Registrar #384241 Wendy Welch for editing the newsletter and #6581 James Rodgers for publishing and mailing the newsletters. Chief Charles mentioned that 650 newsletters were mailed and 150 were returned. Chief Charles gave thanks to # 317143 Judy Lesslie Smith for her continuous updates to the Walter Stewart Webpage and the new Walter Stewart group on Face Book. Chief Charles gave thanks to #317122 Beth Stewart Hall and her daughters for contributing the Saturday evening meal and reunion supervisor #351231 Tommy Brooks for setup and cleanup for the Sunday meal in the new Fairview Building.
Parliamentarian #317141 Alan Fields reported from the nomination committee the nomination for the 2010-1011 term and requested additional nominations from the floor. After 2 motions to accept the nominations, vote was taken and nominations accepted for:

Chief Historian #31714 Mary Stewart Newton.
New Business: Chief Historian #31714 Mary S. Newton requested that a $200.00 vs. a $100.00 be donated to Fairview Presbyterian Church for use of the facilities. Accepted by motion and vote. Joey Henderson suggested that Bethany Presbyterian Church be considered for next year’s reunion. There are ties through Clark Berry Stewart and Walter Stewart, Jr. who donated land to the church. A recommendation was made to create an assistant Chief Historian to help Chief Historian Mary Newton with records and reports in the newsletter.
Chief Charles ended the meeting with the meal blessing and all adjourned to the new Fairview Building.
